We were lucky enough to have a delightful week working with Carla from Australian brewery Shapeshifter a few weeks back. While she was here, we thought it would be silly not to brew up something bright and juicy.
For this Aussie-inspired pale ale, we got our hands on a new yeast strain from WHC Labs called Mango Madness. It's our first time working with this expressive, thermotolerant strain that should achieve what it says on the tin. Producing bold aromas of mango and guava, and high levels of biotransformation.
Aussie hop Enigma takes the lead, with a supporting cast of Talus and Citra to round out those bold tropical flavours with subtle notes of coconut and lime.

Pours a hazy light orange with soft, fluffy head.
Smell is crisp, juicy and fruity with notes of orange juice, mango, pineapple, lime and guava with hints of coconut and lemongrass.
Taste is juicy, fruity and a bit spicy. Notes of orange juice, mango, lemongrass, guava, lime, coconut and pineapple with a soft but distinct bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft, pillowy and well carbonated.
Overall, an astounding pale ale, probably the best I've ever had.
