A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bright golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of salt, limes. Taste is tart, salty, mild limes. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

The CANQuest (tm) is back for New Tying Up Loose Ends Beer Sunday, Redux (Week 760)! I am going to see "Hustlers" this afternoon so I wanted to get an early start. I have to cop to cheating … sorta. This one was not a part of the backlog, but knowing that today was on the horizon, I snagged it at the FGBS on Friday night with an eye to today. It still hearkens back to Week 759.
From the CAN: "Another matter entirely. Unique brews that run the gamut of the beer style palette from batch to batch."
I have alluded to it before, but while not being much of a Tart/Sour guy, I have a real affinity for Goses. It is the inclusion of (usually Sea) salt that really sends me as a retired sailor. Lime? Mmm.
Having Crack!ed open the vent, the room suddenly filled with the scent of salt & lime! Phew. I mouth beCAN to water as I performed a heavy-handed aggro C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I got just under two rolling fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, bone-white head with low retention for my efforts, quickly dissipating away to wisps. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Leaning in for a sniff, the nose was REALLY salty, held in check by the lime citrusiness. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin & watery, but on par for the style. The taste was REALLY tart & puckering, like liquefied alum! Once the initial tartness subsided, the lime & salt REALLY asserted themselves! Phew. Tart, salty, lime citrusy, this one had it all! Of course, I was having a tough time prising my lips open, but that was a horse of a different color. It CAN only be described as dry, tart & highly refreshing. Finish was super-dry, leading me to reach for my asthma inhaler. Phew.
