Purchased at Wegman's in State College.
Look: Very slight pale straw yellow pour, with a decent white head that unfortunatly disappears in 80 seconds. Does leave some side glass lace.
AROMA: Leads with some lemon zest. Has a cracker like malt backbone. In my opinion more of a Pils profile.
TASTE: Drying, not bitter, not sweet. Decent in it's German Pils, Lager profile.
Nothing too complicated here just a clean, simple easy drinking beer.

16 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass.
L---Almost clear, light golden color. Fluffy white head had good retention and left ok lacing.
S---Some citrus (lemon) and crackery maltiness.
T---Follows the nose, but doubles up on the maltiness. Really nice.
F---Fuller than expected for a light lager. Ample carbonation.
O---They get a lot of flavor out of the 4.5% ABV. A very nice one.

I am giving this rating because I support everything this local brewery puts out and of course I have two degrees from PSU!! Also, I am always looking for the 'simpler' beer styles like a classic American lager.
Poured from a 16oz can into a stem glass.
Two-finger head with vigorous pour that dissipated quickly. Left some lacing on the glass.
Color is hazy bright yellow with pure white foamy head.
Aroma is light and simple- bready and malty.
Taste is light maltiness and not much more.
Mouthfeel is crisp and light, inviting you to take another refreshing drink.
Overall, this is done simply and is a bit lighter on the taste and mouthfeel than your typical lager, but that is what i love about it. There is nothing like a simple beer with a clean, crisp finish that invites you back for more.
Well done.

Poured from a 16-oz can into pint glass in April 2020. There is a packaged date of 11Nov2019 on the can. I drank this within 1 month of purchase.
Appearance: Medium gold color with thin dark-tan head. Head lasted a short time, and left a very thin head. The head had very fine bubbles. There was a nice amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell: Sweet aroma into the room while the beer was being poured. Earthy and malt aromas domincated.
Taste: Flavors of malt and citrus. A sweet flavor with a slight bitter hops edge. Overall a nice balance and very drinkable.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, and very drinkable. It is smooter than many other lagers. Standard alcohol which matches the 4.5% listed.
This is a very good and enjoyable lager. It has a nice mix of malts, light hops, and other flavors, which makes it enjoyable. It is an easy drinking lager, and good for tailgating or parties.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Clear light golden pour with 2 fingers of white head. Modest ring of lacing.
S: Light grains and floral/citrus hops.
T.F: Light and crisp. Crackery grains with citrus hop balance. Modest bitterness... balanced and clean. Light bodied and well carbonated.
O: For it's low ABV and crushability (while retaining actual quality beer flavor) this would be perfect for an afternoon outside, a tailgate, etc. Not overly exciting, but great for what it is... and a craft beer that your non-craft enjoying friends/family will almost certainly drink.

As New Clear Out the Reefer Beers Sunday (Week 783) CANtinues, I am delving back into a brewery that got my undivided CANtention a while back, but has since gone unnoticed. I have visited them in the past & I really want to return to PHXville in the near future as a day trip or even an overnight. This one is an homage to Penn State University & their repeated need to remind us & themselves who they are. Who cares? I remain a proud Pitt alumnus.
From the CAN: "AmeriCAN Lager".
I Crack!ed open the vent & CANtinued with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug in one CANtinuous, fluid motion. This resulted in the formation of just over a finger of foamy, soapy, rocky, bone-white head with limited retention. Color was a gorgeous Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, leading to an unexpected visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus, all clamoring for a taste. Nose was clean, clearly adjunct free with a biscuity maltiness. Their website declares it to be a:
"Crisp American Lager brewed with Pilsner malt and Simcoe hops". Fair dinkum, mate. I was not getting much in the way of Simcoe, but definitely Pilsner malt. Mouthfeel was medium, but solid for the style. The taste was very crisp & dry, more towards crackery than biscuity, but who's CANplaining? Not me! I still did not perceive a whole lot in terms of its hops, but it was lightly bitter. Finish was crisp & dry & were it not for the name, I would happily fill my Summer cooler with these CANs. YMMV.
