Pretty glass - cloudy yellow-amber with a clingy, persistent white head that left lots of lace behind.
Aromas of liquid sugar and citrus and a strange fishy off note. Hops ( Nelson and Mosaic) give some fruity undertones but this smells most of malt sugars, toffee and cracked grain.
The flavor is lush, sweet caramel malt with more citrus and a tasty toasted biscuit thing fills the mouth. Loads of full bodied malt carry this, chewy and complex the hops play a supporting role but deserve a curtain call.
Balance tips to the sweet side but that's a refreshing change these days for me.
A well made, unfiltered Dbl IPA that brings more than just hops to the table.
