Pink on purple retro digital graphics complete w/ 80's Nintendo themed characters I assume are the brewers/owners of Stable 12.
Fairly hazy (yawwwn) lemon yellow beer sporting a bright, tighty whitey head of foam that left sheets of gauzy lace on the glass.
The head was dense and tenacious, leaving 1/4 inch lip of clotted cream-foam at the curve in the goblet. Truly, the 1st I've seen this and not be a bottle conditioned Belgian.
Aromas of freshly mashed grain and cooked oatmeal slathered in lemon infused honey. It smells heavy and sweet - sugar saturated.
The flavor is less than the nose implies but in a good way.
It seems a raw beer - PA Farmhouse maybe? Well made but still with rough edges.
Sweet and hefty up front, the malt body slips away suddenly as an under current of hops mixes in and a "softer" mouth feel results in a mellow and tasty blend of lemon-pepper hop spice and honey sweetened barley-oats.
Maybe a bit sweet overall for some looking for more hop character in an IPA but I like the balance this achieves especially because it leans more to the malt side.
