Traded for this a while ago as there wasn't anything written on the bottom of the can and the months on the side of the label were neither marked nor notched. I've had quite a bit from Brix City while in line at Other Half but this was the first beer that I was able to review here at the house. I'm not a huge fan of table beers because if I'm having something with dinner, it's probably going to be water or tea. That's not to say that this wasn't bad, but I can't recall when I've had an American IPA that was only 3.50% ABV!

The hue to this was quite murky and muddled as the liquid was a turbid goldenrod, with a bit of sediment at the bottom of it. Very little lacing was left on the side of my pint glass as I worked my way through this, as this beer was quite thin in consistency. Lemongrass, floral hops, and white grape could be found in the nose with some white grape from the Nelson Sauvin as well. Light on the palate, this was just a bit too earthy and white wine-like for me to fully warm up to but I didn't have any problem downing it, either. Light in carbonation and just full enough in the body, this was serviceable enough to be a true to form.

Booze? I suppose it's in here but I couldn't detect any and still felt like this was closer to an American Pale Ale more than an IPA. I did enjoy the fact that I was able to move on to the next beer in my stash quite easily after this and if I had a meal with lots of bread, pasta, and salad, that this would pair well with those items. Would love to give this another go with a stamped can!

This is one of the highest ratings I have given a beer and its not because its one of the best beers I've ever had, but because what it is trying to accomplish and is a true Unicorn in the beer world.
Look: It is almost glowing the light yellow/straw/golden color that is very hazy with a 1.5 pillowy white head but I mostly drink it straight from the can as I do with most sessions since it keeps the hop flavors better I feel.
Smell: Hops, on top of hops, on top of more hops, you get the usual floral, pine, citrus aromas from most IPAs with much higher ABVs and really gets you salivating for that 1st sip
Taste: And this beer sure doesn't disappoint. You get that satisfying grassy, floral, then citrus hints from the hops, with very little malt flavors getting in the way. You get this sweet but then bitter finish that is better than most 6 to7% ABV IPAs I have had. Amazing to pack this much hop flavor in a beer that is equivalent in ABV as a Miller Lite, or a Coors Lite but with so much more FLAVOR!
MF: It is on the light side but that is what you want in a Session beer so you can have 3 or 4 without getting that bloated belly feeling. Crisp, with a tad bit of creamy feeling from the hops, its perfect.
Overall: This is a true accomplishment by Brix City, an absolute amazing IPA that I just can not get enough of, unfortunately the beer is not brewed that often by the brewery. Another good tip is that this beer really holds up for months inside the cans! Maybe the low alcohol allows the flavors to remain cause I have had cans that are 3 months old and they are still as delicious as cans I have had that were a few days old.
Grab these whenever you can as its the best session IPA out there and great to drink and still operate heavy equipment!

At 3.5 percent ABV and for what this is - an easy drinking, session IPA - this is extremely flavorful. Very delicious. More so than I expected at that low an ABV. Classic New England look with considerable lemongrass, white grape and citrus overtones. Only wish I had bought more :)

Pours a hazy, almost milky pale straw with a quarter inch of rapidly disappearing soapy white head. Aroma is lemongrass, citrus zest, and white grape notes, the Nelson Sauvin is the biggest presence here. The taste focuses on the lemongrass and citrus zest notes. Just a bit more than light in body with moderate carbonation. Overall this is a tasty, easy drinking beer. There is a good amount of flavor here for 3.5% ABV and it drinks very well. This would be perfect for summer/the beach/a barbeque.

For a 3.5% IPA this was definitely tasty. Looks pretty wild - pale yellow and very hazy. It's all hops and a lot of em as expected. Tons of yeast at the bottom of the can which became more fruity tasting as I got toward the end, even giving me some hints of strawberry. It feels thin and has that kind of weird no-malt taste which isn't terrific. Overall really easy drinking. nb
