Double Dry Hopped heavily with Citra+Galaxy
This beer was brewed with a combo of Malted and Flaked Oats and Dry Hopped at the highest rate we've ever done. Huge notes of Pineapple, Melon and Citrus are followed by a smooth and creamy finish.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; no production information.
A: Pours an opaque, light orange color, with a one to two finger, white foamy head, moderate retention, a solid rings of foamy, sticky lacing.
S: Aromas of orange zest, lemon, white grapefruit, and papaya predominate. A little minty, which only adds.
T: Semisweet. Flavors are a melange of the fruits, which emphasizes the orange zest, as well as a strong distinct barley grain presence that only grows as it warms. Solid, minty/peppery bitterness very much in evidence.
M: Medium bodied with solid effervescence. Very creamy, almost silky.
O: Interesting and enjoyable. Hit the spot on a cold Saturday afternoon

As was the case with the rest of the beers from Brix City in my stash, this was old and undated at the bottom of the can. It held up better than the rest as it was nice upon pouring, beautiful in hue, and quite easy to drink. The hops used were common so this came across as quite familiar and was a nice example of an American Imperial IPA that didn't hit me over the head with booze!
The hue was a muted orange with plenty of soft head to top this off. A good amount of lacing could be seen along the top third of my pint glass with some scattered splotches below that. Dank melon, citrus, and hops filled the nose as some kiwi, dew, and weed came into the equation on the palate. Slick, full of oats, and balanced, this was almost a Pale Ale more than an IPA because of the fullness of the body. An underlying citrus twang kicked in as this fully warmed up and the aftertaste was quite lively and earthy...as if I was back in Florida again!
Sure, there was booze here and some warming took hold before I finished this off. It complemented the liquid nicely as it reminded me that indeed, this was an IPA. This was easy to like and a nice take on the style but once again, I would have had to enjoyed it fresher!
