-DDH w/ Motueka and El Dorado.

A: Very dense and hazy orange juice like appearance. An almost gold brick like coloring. The head is firm, binding and a darker shade of cream and very resilient, leaving a lasting photo impression with great lace coverage. Milk shake like clarity, big thick patches of lace on the walls with big floating milky ice berg like deposits left on the surface.

S: Very peachy start to the nose, dripping wet, along with some cantaloupe, watermelon and some pineapple flair. Very wet and juicy, lots of whirlpool contribution, and of solid strength. Hints of sweet lemonade and oranges and tropical fruit. Bold lemony scents upon warming, very easy to intake.

T: Peachy flavor follows the nose, bold lemony scents as well. Tropical flavors of pineapple-mango with some kiwi-strawberry add to the mix. Very clean and wet flavor with a juicy like taste. There is some fresh apricot juice, watermelon and pear with a range of individual clarity and flavors that is quite impressive. Strong flavor, peachy tropical with some mention of piney dry hopping on the swallow.

M: Medium build, milky feel, perhaps some wheat contribution, Very soft carbonation texture. Lush and deep, heavy on the malt side.

O: Overall a wet and juicy NEIPA, with a wide range of individual characters and flavors that is sharply defined. Soft and lush mouthful, nice coloring and appearance with a strong drinkability factor. The 8% is nicely hidden behind the fruitiness and sweet tropical nature of the drink. Another one, same same please.

Same but different - maybe that's another way of saying familiar but exotic. That's what this beer turned out to be as it initially seemed like all of the other offerings that I've had from Brix City but after a while, this was just a bit unlike those in ways that I couldn't fully pinpoint. That was a good thing as it kept my sense on my toes but the end result was a brew that still seemed just a bit too familiar...

This had a dank, melon hue to it without any visible floaties or sediment in the liquid. Not a lot of head to it but the lacing was quite extensive as each layer slid down to the next, with the end result being much of the back half of my pint glass being coated in suds. Lots of citrus, melon, cactus, deep pine, and hop dankness in the nose as the taste also contained prickly pear and dank hops that contained lots of floral and stone fruit notes. A moderate slickness and deep botanical undertone kicked in once this fully warmed up as this beer was more enjoyable as I worked my way through it.

This had enough booze in it although it was quite complementary to the flavors that I detected. While this wasn't anything noteworthy, this stood out enough to be different from what I was accustomed to from Brix City. I was glad to give this a go but next time, I'd prefer a fresher can to see if this was really any different from their other offerings. Worth a go once for a change from the norm...
