Brix City Brewing "Cloud of Sound"
on tap @ Blue Monkey Tavern, Merchantville, NJ on 8 October 2019
Notes: Hazy deep golden/orange body beneath a short but creamy head of white. Good head retention and lacing with thin streaks and patches of tiny spots left behind. Light orange with other citrus and tropical fruits in the aroma. There's also some grassiness and a light bit of soft red berry. A sweetish and basic golden malt base supports hoppy notes of orange, lemon, peach, berry, and grassiness. It's quite earthy as well, and perhaps a touch almost-vegetal. A stiff bitterness runs through it and it finishes dry and bitter. Medium bodied and crisp. Not a bad NEIPA but there's something a little off.
