Our rich, luscious, Imperial Stout base aged 6 months in hand-selected, freshly emptied, Bourbon Barrels from A. Smith Bowman Distillery and conditioned on pounds of Ethiopian Queen City Harrar Coffee Beans that were roasted specially for us by our friends at Roast'd. The 2022 vintage exhibits notes of dark chocolates, fresh cinnamon, dried berries, caramel, charred oak, and hints of vanilla bean.

Poured into a Silk City Stout glass at 68° It pours a dark walnut color with a generous cap of medium khaki-colored foam and sudsy lacing. Although a coffee Stout the nose is predominately milk chocolate and vanilla/caramel with some earthy, nutty char in the background. The coffee is, however, evident in the taste. It's acidic and bitter but balanced against chocolate, vanilla/caramel, and a hint of dark fruit. There is also an underlying bitterness. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with lite carbonation and the 10% ABV is not distracting. Overall, this is another excellent variant of Silk City. This brand of stouts from Brix City never disappoints.
