Pastry style Stout is inspired by a banana split sundae from the local ice cream shop. Banana Split Open Melt starts off with a long boil to create a thick and decadent base before heading into Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels for 12 long months. Brewed with Lactose, we conditioned this one on fresh Banana Purée, Dominican Cacao Nibs, and choice Vanilla Beans. Pouring an extremely dark brown color with a thin mocha-colored head, this is one of our fudgiest stouts to date!
We’re finding that the thick base releases aromas of bourbon-infused chocolate candies and sweet vanilla and flavors reminiscent of mixed dark chocolates, fresh fudge, and chocolate vanilla swirl soft serve that leads to hints of caramelized banana and brown sugar.

The smell is amazing: just like a sundae teeming with hot fudge and bananas growing mushy with the heat, as well as that twinge of vanilla goodness. The body is thick and luscious, and follows the label exactly: hot fudge with a mushy banana backbone. Very great!
