A clear pint glass is almost filled after this was drawn from a tap handle. The brew is dirty dark apricot-amber in color and it's murky. There's a modest off-white head that seems to be enduring. Like other heavily oated beers, there's little aroma. Maybe the nose can find a citrus hop hint amongst the bland starchiness. But, there's much more to taste. The starches provide a reasonable sweetness, with some unexpected earthiness. The hopping is more complex, with more than just a citrus bite offered. The mouthfeel is better than expected, especially since there wasn't any glass lacing. This ended up being a nice surprise for a DIPA.
