Inspired by a favorite Italian dessert turned ice cream flavor, Silk City (2024) BBA Tiramisu builds off our Silk City Coffee variants from previous years. This rich, luscious, Imperial Stout base aged 6 months in hand-selected, freshly emptied, Bourbon Barrels from A. Smith Bowman Distillery and is conditioned on Cocoa Nibs, Vanilla, and Coffee from our friends at Roast'd Coffee.

Poured into a Silk City Stout glass at 63° It's nearly black in color with a small, medium-mocha-colored head that dissipated quickly. The nose is more coffee-forward than other variants but there are also abundant wnotes of milk chocolate, vanilla bean, nuts, and a whiff of tobacco and char. The taste is delightful with freshly-brewed, strong coffee and soft, quite delicate bourbon notes. Since I had my last 2024 variant a few weeks ago the barrel influence has mellowed considerably. There are also distinct flavors of cocoa, vanilla, nuts, and earthy char. The flavors work very well together. The mouth feel is thick and viscous - almost oily - with low carbonation, and the 10.5% ABV is not overpowering. I've now drank all of the 2024 Silk City variants and Tiramisu is clearly my favorite. It's always a crap shoot how much of each variant to purchase when you haven't tasted them. I wish I had a crystal ball; I would have bought more bottles of this gem.
