Pours an opaque, deep reddish purple coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light wheaty malt and faint tart berries, with a certain citric acidity also coming through. Taste is a decent balance of light wheaty malt, tart berries, a light lactose sweetness and good underlying lactic, citric acidity. Finishes with a medium acidity and some vague berry notes and citric acidity lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While this does make for a very refreshing, tart and acidic summer beer, the blueberries are not coming through here as much as they could. They are certainly noticeable as a certain tart berry presence, but do not feel quite as rich and deep as I would have hoped for, almost being drowned out by the lactic acidity here, while the sweetness from the lactose, which really isn't too bad, is a little too pronounced for my personal taste as well. Overall, this makes for a nice, refreshing Fruited Kettle Sour that could be fruitier though, with the balance being a little off for my personal taste here.
