Copenhagen 2/6 2024. 33 cl bottle from Rewe, Süderquerweg, Hamburg. It is the 2023 version I am drinking. Beige label with a drawing of a Goat’s head en face and the name of the beer in dark blue letters.
Pours opaque dark mahogany with a big light beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a dark, sugary and a bit roasted, malty odor mingling with a scent of dark alcohol. Dark roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Chocolate. Brown sugar and bread.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a touch of alcohol. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
A bit on the very sweet side.
