Traditional wheat ale with Belgian yeast and flavors of orange peel and coriander.

Faubourg Golden Cypress is a crisp, refreshing Belgian-style wheat ale named for its beautiful golden color. Crafted from lightly kilned pilsner malt combined with soft white wheat and a touch of malted oats, it’s a smooth and incredibly balanced brew that shows zesty, sweet aromas, and hints of spicy coriander. Enjoy it anytime — especially at the golden hour of sunset.

The pour is saffron colored. The taste is orange, coriander, yeast, white pepper, & white bread. Cheers! B-

12 ox. can served in a tulip glass. Pours a hazy golden orange with a half inch of porous white foam. Not much for retention but a stir will kick things up a bit. Light notes of Belgian yeast on the nose and faint hints of coriander as well. Quite subdued in nature overall as for aroma. Taste of wheat and some notes of sweet citrus. Warming brings out the coriander character on the finish. Decent feel, light carbonation. Overall a decent beer but a bit too light in the yeast and wheat department for my preference within the style.

Note: Labeled 10/10/23 though not sure if that is a packaging or best by date.....

$9.49 USD per sixer at grocers in New Orleans, Louisiana.

5.2% ABV. "Wheat ale."

Artificial in flavour with an odd vaguely citric sweetness to it. Sort of a stale orange juice/Sunny Delight left in the sun sort of vibe.

Call me crazy, but I'd sooner drink Blue Moon.

Light amber, very clear. White 1-finger head, good lacing and bubbles rise until the end.
Get a whiff of floral and clove.
Taste is rather non-descript, but the wheat twang is there.
Feel is semi-crisp; carbonation could be a little more aggressive.

Overall, it’s between okay and good (weighted toward good). Was surprised to read that it took Gold at the 2021 U.S. Open Beer Championship.
