Pours a slightly misty amber/brown co,our with a nice thick and creamy light tan head.
A slight leathery, earthy , yeasty aroma..as the other rater said like shoes..but nice expensive leather shoes LOL, slight herbal hop quality and some molasses.
Sweet tobacco and honey in the taste, with bittering touch of hops. Finishes with a nice smooth dark coffee and hazelnut aspect. Very nice.
Nice semi-thick and smooth mouth feel.
Very nice ale....not sure its an Old Ale..more an English Strong.

So far my favorite beer! Beautiful deep red color, just the right balance of hoppy, and crisp malt flavors. Truly a masterpiece !

Okay, this is my first BA review, and I'm not much of a beer snob. I usually drink a typical PNW IPA. I go for high ABV, hops-in-the-face bitterness with a good malt backbone to balance.
Old Craig is different, and amazing.
This stuff is basically brown sugar and malt, but somehow it's not cloyingly sweet. At 44 IBU, it's not going to challenge any palates; it's smooth and easy-drinking, warms your stomach, and leaves an aftertaste somewhere between smoky and sugary. Don't think BBQ--think burnt maple syrup, except delicious.
I'm not breaking this down into look, taste, feel, etc., because I'm just not that educated on each, but coming from a guy whose go to beer would probably be Sierra Nevada's Torpedo, Deschutes' Freshly Squeezed IPA, or Dogfish Head 90 Minute, this is a glowing review for a low IBU beer. I've not had a ton of English strong ales, so take this with a grain of salt, but pick this brew up if you get a chance. It's the perfect winter ale and is my new go-to for snowy days.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
