Canned on 05/05/17 (so not the freshest it could be and drank strait from the can)
The first thing that hit me with this beer is the crazy floral hop aroma (if you've ever smelled flowering hops then you know exactly what I'm talking about)
With a slight caramel malt note in the back.
Excellent flowering hop flavor (even more than on the nose) with a powerful 80 IBU bitterness. Didn't get a whole lot of the malt character even though this particular beer is nearly a month old.
Overall this beer was great. On the can it says their family has been harvesting hops for over 100 years and that clearly shows in this beer. Fantastic hop presence. Pick this up if you can find it.

Clear amber with a fine-grained foam. Body is rather thin despite the surprising alcohol content. The light grainy flavor is reminiscent of a malt liquor, but there is just a faint sweetness. Definitely on the woody side.
Big aroma of flowery hops with a whiff of the feline. Very dry and mineral tasting. Grapefruit is the main flavor that emerges, with plenty of peel. Bitter aftertaste.

23oz bottle purchased at Huckleberry's in Spokane for $4.59. Ordnance. This is my first beer from Ordnance, a brewery located about 45 minutes from where I grew up. I'd thought there was no freshness date on the label, which boasts of "generous additions of Mt.Hood and Columbus hops atat every brewing step," but I eventually noticed a faint, tiny stamp indicating it was bottled on August 17, 2016. The label also states there are "80+" IBUs and that it is 7.8% alcohol.
Poured into a Mad Bomber Brewing IPA glass (appropriate given that brewery's and this beer's focus on EOD personnel), this was a cloudy, orangey amber color, with a big, pillowy eggshell white head. Lots of lace. When held up to light, there was some fine sediment to be seen floating about.
Grapefruity but muted hop aroma, probably due to this beer having been bottled over 3 months ago. There's also sosome mildly sweet, bready malt notes.
The taste starts off with a slightly muted grapefruity hop bitterness. There's also some sweeter, berry notes in the background. The finish is a slightly piney and sappy syrupyness that ends with an abrupt bitter zap to the palate. All through the taste it is obvious there's a fairly big malt backbone, but it stays just on the correct side of emphasis, not pushing the hops aside and taking over.
Medium bodied, with a coating, tingly and oily mouthfeel.
Nice to have another player from eastern Oregon. This is an IPA that dances on the edge of Imperial status, both in terms of alcohol percentage and in flavor, with a somewhat thicker maltiness than most standard IPAs. I enjoyed it, and would really like to try a fresher example, but it's not something I'd want to session. 22oz was quite enough for now.

Hazy gold with two fingers of bone colored head. Good head retention and rings of lace are left behind.
Smell is fruity hops with bread crust malts.
Taste is juicy fruity hops with good malt support. There is some pine and leather from the hops as the beer warms.
Mouthfeel is medium with normal carbonation. The finish is dry and bitter.
Overall a tasty and interesting IPA.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy orange amber with a half finger white head with great retention and lots of lacing, looks nice. Aroma of bready malt, dry grassy hops, orange, a bit dank. Flavor is pale malt with light biscuit and caramel, grassy and citrus hops, grapefruit and orange citrus. Finishes with biscuit malt and grassy and citrus rind hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Although presented as a West Coast IPA, the hops and malt body lean more towards a British style, although with West Coast generosity with hop intensity. Although not what I expected, the hop profile was interesting and flavorful. The malt is mostly neutral, but with hints of caramel at first and British style biscuit in the finish. Although a little rough around the edges, this stands out among the more typical West Coast style IPAs. I liked this and will look for other brews from this new brewery. I like the looks of unfiltered IPAs and this one looks nice.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high frothy beige head that settled down, leaving lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrus and herbal hops are present in the nose along with underlying hints of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the malts are a touch stronger and there are also notes of spicy hops.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes like it has lots of fresh hops, but these strike up a nice balance with the underlying malts, similar to an English IPA.
