Bottle:

Poured a protien-hazed copper-gold with a 1 finger rocky cap that reduces to a surface clinging lace. Well carbonated

Aromas of light caramelized malt and a whiff of apple.

detectable malt backbone, light-thin body, sharp-spritzy persona

Starts with a bite of caramel malt then this spritzy apple-like tartness floods the mid palate with a spritzy cereal- cider decernment...finished clean, crisp uneventful.

A decent enough all malt lager but lacks body and proper hopping.

A real middle-of-the road offering from Fort Garry. I really wanted this one to offer me something special, but it didn't. Pretty average stuff. A caramel coloured brew with a weak looking head that subsides with almost no lace, low carbonation. Smell is a bit sweet, and tastes the same, very syrupy. It feels very soft in the mouth, goes down a little too easliy since it lacks the carbonation and tangyness I usually love. no reason to hold this one in the mouth and ponder it. Nonetheless, I drank a bit more of this than I thought this summer since it's a rarity on the store shelf, and I like to support the local brewery. Pick up their Pale ale instead.

Copper brown in colour with lots of carbonation. There are some sulfur aromas, along with the faintest wiff of grassy hops. There is a strong caramel sweetness to this beer, which vaguely suggests maple syrup (somewhat appropriate for a beer celebrating Festival du Voyageur), although I doubt that any real maple syrup was used. Unfortunately, the implementation of the sweetness was clumsy, and there isn’t much flavor complexity. A good try, but more work needs to be done.
