Read some comments on the BA forums referencing Sole and one commented that the beers seem unfinished" when describing what he had sampled. I had the same impression from Kushy Clouds and Citra Nerd but liked this one considerably more.

It doesn't really standout among other IPAs with juice added, but it does find the way to just about totally bury the alcohol which is no small feat here. Finish was really nice. A little too on the sweet side for me.

If it didn't come in a can with a cool sticker label I don't think I would be able to pick this over Tangerine Hop Nosh or some other citrus IPA.

It's pretty good even if I wouldn't seek it out

Traded for this a while ago, as the date on the bottom of the can was 7/25 (yes, I'm behind!) with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" written above it. The other beers that I had from SOLE were quite enjoyable and indeed, this was another juice bomb that went down easily without anything in particular standing out. If that's your thing, look no further!

The pour to this was decent as the beer had a faded amber hue to it with a fair amount of light seeping in around the edges. Not a lot of head to this as it settled relatively quickly with the sound of retreating sea foam emanating from my pint glass as it did so. Hardly any lacing was left behind and the aroma wasn't that potent either as there was plenty of tangerine, mandarin, and sticky sweetness in the mild nose. All of those were present in the taste with enough tropical sweetness and soda-like sugar to keep things interesting. Thankfully, the alcohol was recessed and the carbonation was light as the mouthfeel contained a very subdued amount of caramel and grass, giving this beer just right amount of depth to counter the citrus that characterized this.

There was a slight warming sensation that I could feel once I finished this off. Juice bombs are always fun to drink but this beer didn't have any pulp, rind, or overpowering bitterness that defines so many other offerings that end up falling into that category. The end result was a brew that was easygoing, fun, and ultimately in search of a lasting presence but when this ended up going down so quickly, who's to notice? I'd easy have another one in a sitting knowing how much this went against the grain of a typical Ameican Double / Imperial IPA!

On tap in a tulip glass. Before this I was not a IPA guy. Everything I had from Søle has made me a fan. Perhaps I just haven't had the right IPA'S yet. Until now. Artfully crafted. Full bodied. Orange citrus smell. Not punch you in the mouth hops. Not overly piney like many IPAs. Perfect balance. Juicy but not sweet. Nice mouth feel. Hard to describe but really impressed with the complexity. Looking forward to the next release. Will be driving a hour for future releases.

16 oz can, dated 7/25/16, poured into a teku

A- A bright hazy orange with a two finger white head.

S- Mandarin oranges, citrus, tropical fruits, some dankness.

T- Slightly sweet mandarin oranges, hints of tropical fruits and citrus, some mangos and grapefruit rinds, hints of a dank/resin like bitterness, some caramel malts.

M- Smooth, medium body

O- Lives up to the name of Giant Juicebox, oranges are done very well in this. Hops aren't front and center up really are there to support the oranges.

slightly hazy - orange golden color, decent head and lacing. nice fruity hop aroma - lots of citrus and tropical fruit. not bitter for a double IPA - but not sweet, nice balance of hop flavors and a little malt. easy drinking.
