Traded for this a while back, as the date on the bottom of the can was 11/04 of last year with "RAGE ALL DAY" written below it. Those looking for a dank brew or a juice bomb would ultimately end up disappointed with this beer as it felt quite dry and not terribly potent. As a stand-alone brew, this was just fine but it fell a bit short of the standards that Sole set with their more popular offerings...

The pour to this was relatively typical with a moderately hazy and dank off-gold hue with a small head that quickly settled once I poured this out. Very little lacing to be seen on the side of my pint glass as I worked my way through this, though the beer wasn't quite that thin in consistency. Plenty of muted, melon hops in the nose along with lemon zest and some citrus juice. All of those were present in the taste along with a very strong and persistent dry and chalky mouthfeel. That was a cross between white cheese and dank stone fruit feel with some vegetable soup underneath that. This beer called for chasers of water, given how mild it was and lacking in juicy, alluring bitterness. Dry and low in carbonation, the flavor here could have been much more appealing.

At least the alcohol wasn't high, which allowed the odd but subtly pleasing range of flavors to fully emerge as this warmed up. This almost tasted like fermented vegetable juice or hopped-up soup and if that's your thing, you've certainly found your nirvana with this offering. For the rest of us, this was quirky and enjoyable but only once. There's enough IPA's out there to easily beat this and unless you want your carrots and celery to come with alcohol, this would probably not be your first choice. Lots of potential here but the end result was a niche beer that wouldn't appeal to many when all was said and done.

Solid IPA, mostly citrus flavors on the with lots of orange and lemon being most assertive. Moderate bitterness but pretty smooth and crisp, little hop cone in the mid body to supplement those tropical flavors.

Hazy orange with a tall white head and nice lacing. Aromas of hoppy citrus. Notes of citrus rinds, lemon zest, vegetal funk and bitter grapefruit bite. Well carbed, little sting on the feel, medium body, and slightly dry. Decent, not great, straightforward IPA.

Pounder can into a tulip appears a hazy pale yellow color with a white cap.

Aroma is zesty with citrus character like oranges. The taste continues with that orange and lemon citrus zesty character and mild vegetal aspect.

Light in body with modest carbonation. It is decent but not something I feel I need to stock up on or have on hand to share.

I tried this on tap at Federal Taphouse served chilled in glass

The color is golden amber with light haze and off white head with fine bead. The smell is fruity with tropical aroma and light citrus -grapefruit and dank herbal hop scent. The feel starts semi-bitter with mild sweetness and moderate carbonation and slight chalky dry texture as it finishes.

The taste is very hoppy yet not overly bitter slight tangy citrus acidity with a light herbal hop flavor...I don't know if it is the water chemistry or oats in the grist but it has a very dry almost chalky flavor as it finishes. Overall this is a well hopped and tasty example of the style but the dry chalky finish was slightly distracting
