The pint can was drained into a clear glass liter mug. The nearly opaque brew is ironically a shade lighter brown than black coffee. Its ample head is dark biege and appears to be enduring. Roasted coffee is dominant within the aroma. Is there a hint of dark chocolate to smell, too? It's funny how chocolate references appear with stouts, even when it's not an ingredient. It's not very much a part of the flavor, where the roasted malt catches up to the coffee. Those that like black roasted coffee and well-roasted malt should have no problem with this. Both tastes are in good balance and the malting makes this as smooth as a latte, without adding cream. Also, it makes this drink a bit sweeter than plain black coffee. With just enough carbonation to carry its richness, this really is one fine robust coffee stout. The glass lacing isn't overly abundant, but it does stratify each time some brew was removed. If you're caffeine sensitive, this will probably give you secondary buzz.
