Cloudy pale orange-tan color. Poured a very tall head that took several minutes to collapse to a thick skiff. Too cloudy to see the carbonation level. Left a few patches of lacing.
The first scent is a light barnyard that mostly clears away, leaving a light sweet peach scent with a touch of barnyard. A hint of the sharp scent that you get in a peach pie, could be some cinnamon and nutmeg. Swirling the glass kicks up a bit more barnyard and a touch of lemon or similar citrus.
The flavor is a mix of peach and apricot with a light bitter. Slightly sweet. A light biscuit or cookie malt with something a bit funky. No sign of the spice in the flavor. The aftertaste is as sour as the original flavor is sweet. The fruit quickly fades and is replaced by some light hops along with the light bitter. The sour and bitter bring out a bit more of the funk, which tastes slightly off.
Quickly foams up to coarse bubbles. Feels like a light spice or alcohol heat. Slight astringency.
The fruit and bitters are not well balanced, the bitters need to be dialed back. Similarly, the funk and bitters at the end of the aftertaste combine to make a flavor that is not pleasant. However, the fruit and biscuit blend offsets the previous issues. Not especially true to a Hefeweizen style, more of a fruit beer.
