A wit IPA. Intriguing stuff.
Appearance - Pours a hazy gold with four fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - citrus and tropical hops, coriander, orange zest, belgian yeast, and bready malts.
Taste - citrus and tropical hops upfront then goes into the bold notes of coriander and orange zest. The bready malts and belgian yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky and off-dry with the hops, coriander, and orange zest lingering.
Overall - A pleasant and enjoyable hybrid of the witbier style. A perfect summer tipple so maybe the folks at Russell will re-release this one then. The hops are the supporting cast members while the coriander and orange zest shine through!
