A: 3/4" tan head over deep mahagony liquid.
S: Oak, bourbon, caramel malt and roasted malt.
T: The oak imparts quite a woody flavour to this beer and the bourbon is more subtle than expected. Grassy and floral noble hop flavours are present along with rich malt: caramel, roasted and smoke.
M: Dry mouthfeel with medium carbonation and viscosity.
O: A good beer that would be better if it was less woody and more bourbony. I tried a version of this at a Central City Brewing cask festival earlier in the year that was better, because it was balanced more in that direction.
