When you go on a cruise, it is rare that they have good beers on board. SO it is a real treat to find a place that has good beer on one of the stops. Right at the seaport in St. Lucia is a booth with Antillia Brewing's beers. It was right across from a loud bar with Karaoke going on, so there is a modicum of entertainment, if you like that sort.
My SO and I tried their Passion Fruit Ale, their regular chocolate Stout, and the Imperial chocolate Stout. All were well made, tasty, and fit the style they represented. The bartender was a lovely local woman, so friendly and accommodating. Talkative, informative, and her husband also worked there, helping out. I even bought a bottle of the Imperial to bring home for friends to try. Very happy to have found this place!

It's hard to come by craft beer in the Caribbean. Antillia Brewing in St Lucia is a great find. It's a large building in Rodney Bay. It's a comfortable, spacious bar. I wandered in and saw that they had 4 beers on draft. They had passion fruit ale, stout, pale ale and golden wheat. I tried each of the four beers. I found the stout to be the best of the beers. It had a quality like a dry Irish stout. The golden wheat reminded me of a typical American wheat beer. It was light and fruity but went down easy. It's really a good beer for the weather. The passion fruit beer was a nice change of pace. The pale ale was flavorful but could use more hop signature.
I found the staff to be very polite and helpful. I was taken for a tour of the facility. The brewer also explained that they do have seasonal beers and do rotate beers. They also had a self made rum but I did not get to try that. I also did not try the food but they offer pub grub fare.
This is a great find. You don't find a lot of great beer in the Caribbean. This is a pretty solid brewpub. It just opened this year so they are still working out all the kinks. I think the potential is certainly there and it gives me a strong reason to return to to St. Lucia.
