One of the beers I picked up directly from the brewery in Penticton. Thanks to brewer Jeff, again, for a nice chat and the free posters. It poured a lovely golden yellow with a slightly grainy malt aroma, and I was able to pick up some hop on the nose as well. It sat in the glass nicely with about a pinky's width of head, very nice lacing as I drank it. This beer was shared by my girlfriend and I, and she told me she loved it because it was so easy-drinking. I liked it because it was both easy-drinking and approachable. This is the type of beer you pour for a friend who only consumes macro lagers and maybe brewpub draught ales, but who stays clear of dark, malty and ruby, hop-forward brews. After they drink it, they will wonder why the hell they still drink Molson Canadian! You have successfully converted them to craft beer and the fascinating journey shall commence!

Grabbed a bomber during a quick visit to the brewery in Penticton - which happened to be in the same parking lot as the gas station we stopped at upon arriving in town.

This beer pours clear golden yellow colour, with tons of foamy soapy white head, which leaves a thin curtain of lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of sweet biscuit grain, and sweet floral, grassy hops - very nice. The taste is bready malt, some mild orchard fruitiness, and grassy, earthy hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium-light and smooth, and it finishes off-dry, the nice fruity, bready malt offset only slightly by more of the earthy, floral hops.

I've never been moved much by examples of this style, but this is a pretty tasty, enjoyable summer quaffer. On the label, in the obligatory French translation, it says "Biere Anglaise Centennale de Blonde", which perhaps indicates a British leaning in the style? Or is that just a catering to French Canadian sensibilities?

Just finished the last mid-term of my undergrad career! Time to celebrate!

A: pours a bright, amber-gold with a two finger, frothy white head that dissipates to a very thin film and leaves limited patchy lacing on my stella chalice.

S: honey malts, a bit of citrus and a notes of bitter and grassy hops.

T: quite bready up front with some honey in the background. unfortunately, the mid palate is somewhat metallic. However, a decent honey nuttiness lingers on.

M: medium bodied, a tad creamy, good carbonation and...do I detect a bit of spiciness on the finish?

D: I was expecting more from this beer. It's lacking a bit in terms of balance and flavour. I would drink it again but, for the price you can definitely do better.

Decent blonde all from Tin Whistle; "Centennial" is so named in honour of Pentiction's centennial this year.

Light amber colour with a thin white head that leaves some clingy lacing along the side.

Nice sweet malt smell with a strong hint of toffee and even a bit of hazelnut. Light citrus notes from the hops.

The taste is a little bit overdone. The malts seem...toasted and don't come off quite as sweet as indicated by the smell. Good lemony flavour from the hops, but it doesn't seem to complement the malts well. As a result, the aftertaste is a little bit on the sour side and hampers the drinkability. Carbonation is decent, though at times a bit much. A respectable beer in any case, and a nice addition to the Tin Whistle line-up. One of my favourites from TW.
