Made as an exclusive house offering for the Cactus Club Cafe restaurant chain.
This beer appears a clear medium straw hue, with one finger of soapy white head, which leaves a few random specks of lace around the glass as it readily disappears. It smells of sweet barley grain, vanilla cookie, and nutty, earthy hops. The taste is nice soft bready caramel malt, nutty vanilla, and bitter leafy hops. The carbonation is moderate, the body medium in weight, and generally smooth. It finishes off-dry, the creamy nuttiness still predominant, and some earthy hops joining in.
Blonde ales mostly leave me non-plussed - this, however, surprised me with the decent baked goods character. If you make it to this pretty-people eye-fuck establishment, have a few of these to soften the edge.
