Wife & daughters off at IKEA…oy vey. I drink beer to numb the inevitable pain of receiving next month’s Visa bill. Belgian-looking 16 oz. beige can w/no date.
The pour is a muddy amber brown with minimal bubble contact & booming nose of caramel, whiskey, & caramel. Like a BA barleywine in disguise.
Quad Rainbow should be called Identity Crisis. Can states quad: taste whispers barleywine (as does the smell). Big caramel hit up front followed closely by a strong dose of whiskey, dates, brown sugar & a finish of earthy hops. Oh. And the chest warming hard liquor. Full. No problem knocking back the big can knocker.
Fluid beer genders turn me on. This is one. Close your eyes & feel #BIL. A very good beer, whatever it is.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, a few bubbles. Aroma is sweet and boozy, prunes, raisins, plums, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, molasses. Boozy warmth throughout. A bit sticky at the finish.

Can reads 11.8 abv. Pours a muddy brown with quickly dissipating head and lacing. Smell or caramel, brown sugar, and barrel. Notes of tangy dark fruits-raisins and dates, caramel, Brion sugar, molasses, a mildly boozy bourbon barrel burn at the back. Light to medium bodied-slightly initial thin feel that thickens as it warms . Mildly mouth watering with a strong boozy character.

16oz can with a born on date of 04/21/21. Label states 11.8% ABV.
Cloudy dark brown color with a small head that settled to a film. Boozy aroma of bourbon and oak. Some actual beer qualities do make themselves known in the form of caramel and brown sugar. A bit more Belgian in flavor. I taste the yeast esters and phenols. This is a sweet beer and I am sure there are a ton of unfermented sugars in this beer. But mostly this features the barrel with the whisky and oak notes but not really hot with alcohol so no need to let this age. Big body and nicely carbonated. Overall it is a very good effort and would drink again if it became available to me.

Had it on tap at a Long Island beer bar. Last beer of the night and a perfect one for it! Sweet and rich with dark fruit, nuts, toffee, and caramel. Beautiful dark reddish brown. Good quad!
