Kinda rusty orange-brown body, nothing but a whiff of tan mist on top... Brewed at Dubco's place in Bay Shore, NY, in collaboration with Holbrook's Spider Bite Brewing... "Rye barleywine aged in a rye whiskey barrel"... 3/15/19 canning...
Rye-forward brew has a surprising amount of chocolate suggested, in addition to a notable rye presence - very chewy-tasting, if that makes sense - muted fruits shellacked and leathered, with a hint of tobacco and resin and muddled notes of fruit jams... Medium-bodied; tacky, a little sticky... Barrel elements are subdued... I found it enjoyable but uninspired?
