Served in a Tulip glass from the bottle.
Appearance: Super transparent gold color with a white head rising at best and I do mean at best seven mm off the body with a touch of darker amber color to the body, still super clear.
Smell: Toffee and whiskey aroma which hovers the nostrils. Smells like a dessert drink, think of a port wine meshed with butterscotch candy and deeper caramelized sugar sticking to the nose.
Taste: Sweet complex whiskey with hints of toffee and butterscotch notes to the brew. Abv level is sneaky and catches up to you after two to three sips.
Mouth: Sticky body with a definitive after taste, soft carbonation with strong sweet finish.
Overall: Beast of a beer, pricey running around 18 a bottle but a finer barley wine if you ask me. Always in a glass, salud!
