Pours a dark brown, ember color, with a thick, medium sized beige head.
Smells of salty, smoked malts, wrapped up by caramel malts. Introduced a blend of earth and bakers chocolate to the prominent saltiness, highlighting the beers pleasant sweetness.
Has a soft carbonation with a velvet mouthfeel to it.
Tastes of caramel glazed earthen malts, with a good amount of herbal hops and a salty quality on top. From the prominent hops, a pungent tartness rises up, overpowering the malts by a fair margin, establishing a promising dryness. Finishes with wooden earth and leafy hops, together with a salty caramel note and a pungent sourness.
Very unapologeticly put together, the flavors come together quite well, creating more of a salty Sticke to my tastebuds, as it misses the Bock's typical, lovely sweetness - replaced by a hoppy dryness.
