This Baltic Porter is brewed with malts from Red Shed Malting in Alberta and noble hops. The dark lager characteristics allow a rich, velvety smoothness to blast through to the finish.
The Kiek in de Kök cannon tower is a historical remnant of the 15th century, located in Tallinn, Estonia. “Kiek in de Kök” means “peak into the kitchen” in Low German.
This is the eighth beer in our It's Not Magic, It's Science Series. Label design by Super Deluxe.

Appearance - Pours a dark chestnut brown with two fingers of bubbly tan head.
Smell - roasted malts, toffee, caramel, licorice, nutty notes, dark fruits (plum, prune, raisin, fig), and earthy yeast.
Taste - roasted malts, toffee, caramel, licorice, and nutty notes upfront. The dark fruits of plum, prune, raisin, and fig follow suit. The brew is rounded out by the earthy yeast. A very multi-layered brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth with all ingredients lingering.
Overall - A pleasant brew that is true to the style having those multi layers within it. This one is definitely up there with Cannery's best. Well done!
