APPEARANCE: Bright, golden orange-ish yellow color that is absolutely crystal clear. Thin head on top fades quickly to reveal a geyser of bubbles rushing up to the surface in the center.
SMELL: After a good swirl of the glass, a big, sweet banana flavor comes through. It reminds me of the yellow Now & Laters from back in the day, a good memory for me. Some notes of clove and hints of fruit are also present on the nose.
TASTE: This is funny, but the guy below me is saying the flavor matches the aroma spot-on. I am actually getting a lot of differences, but mine seem to match his take on the nose; apple, pear, much stronger fruit flavors than expected. The sweetness I expected from the nose has been properly tamped down, but is not lost by any means. There is a BIT of heat, but not too much.
MOUTHFEEL: Medium bodied with a medium to strong carbonation. As noted above, there is some sweetness, but it is not overwhelming and the finish dries out nicely. There is a touch of an odd and unexpected mouthcoating feel at the end though.
OVERALL: Pretty solid beer from a brewery I've never tried before. I was lucky enough to get this from a buddy of mine and I hope he brings more out. Good experience that will keep me looking forward to the next time.

I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in a globe glass.
Appearance: a nice medium-golden hue with a very light touch of haze and a light effervescence; a little on the dark side for a tripel, but good. Head is a thin layer of white foam.
Smell: very fruity aroma with a lot of pear and apple, which usually I quite like. There's not a ton of complexity otherwise, and it is a bit on the sweet side (even for a tripel).
Taste: the flavor matches the aroma spot-on. It's nicely fruity but with a little too much alcohol heat and sweetness.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a nice carbonation and a nice creaminess. Good stuff.
Overall: it's a hard style to nail -- I like the fruitiness here but the sweetness is a little cloying and the alcohol is a little too hot.
