Creamy tan stout head over dark garnet. 4.25
Lots of tart autumn leaf and red currant. 4
Carob, earth, kola nut, birch beer and vague leafy hops. 4
Almost medium, soft, low fizz. 4
Bang on style, which is also to say that it hasn’t chosen a direction: many dark milds skew porter, scotch ale, etc. But balanced and drinkable and all the rest. Impressive from a US brewery, who don’t usually understand or attempt this style. 4
