one of the more guava forward beers ive ever had really, only a few others come to mind on that list, the must use a ton of it here. its concentrated in the nose and taste of this lightly haze straw colored beer, like some sort of puree was used, rather than whole fruit, but its natural to me, and really cool without all its usual friends like pineapple, passion fruit, and mango blocking out its true essence. i think the base beer is pretty good here too, i immediately taste the salt, the brininess and mineral profile that it contributes, and the pale wheat malt is evident as well, not all fruit, still beery enough for sure. the souring is the just okay part of this for me, its not too tart or anything, in fact it has a drinkable level of acidity, and some flavor to it as well, but its the sweaty, slightly stinky element that comes on late that makes this one seem a little amateurish, not as clean as it could and should be, and it turns me off just a little. the guava is cool though because its there from start to finish, and its obvious but never sweet, which lends to drinkability. very tropical and vacation-esque brew, nicely carbonated too, summery and fun. those i were with adored this, i liked it but wasnt in love. still need to try some more beers from these guys to get a true sense of who they are, but this was an enjoyable sour whose base identity as a gose came through nicely.
