May 20th, 2015 - I just discovered Duck Foot, and though the comparative advantage here is gluten-free recipes, I find the beer to be quite good. It starts with the Cali Blonde, a nice and golden beer with a good foamy head on top. the aroma is a little soapy with some good apple notes, a touch of mixed berries and a wholesome naturalness. The flavor is high and dry, nutty and savory, and basically bursting with biscuit notes (and a bit of butter, which works well with the biscuit.)

With a bright straw color, the aroma is slightly musty, but the taste is lightly malty with some oat cereal and light biscuit flavors and very little grassy hops. Thanks to the low hops, I can actually taste the beer in this style along with the nice aftertaste that follow! Overall, this is a nicely balanced, albeit a bit watery, beer for the style.
