May 21st, 2015 - Duck Foot also offered us a nitro option, smoothing out their porter with a delicious, creamy ale offering. As one would and should expects, the head produces a fine layer of velvet around the glass as the liquid quickly disappears between enthusiastic sips. The smell is a little like wet carpet, fabric, spinach, Spirulina and heavy cream but still pleasant. And the palate is quite light, given some levity by the nitrogen gas. As a result, the palate comes off as watery and thin at first, then blossoms like a Chrysanthemum, resounding and blossoming with more of those delicious botanical notes.
May 21st, 2015 - Duck Foot's Porter is a chalky, muddy looking brew, whose head quickly snuffs itself out, even in a proper pint glass. That gives me a room to smell the clear coffee and espresso notes, which are sweetened by a bit of milk chocolate and just a shade of white truffle. The palate is much like the appearance suggests it is, with a fluffiness that is quite appealing, and a brilliant aftertaste of jerk spice Beefy, dry and peppery, it's a meal in every sip, with a foretaste that starts with a bold soy sauce note. This is a 9/10 flavor and another outstanding introduction to Duck Foot.
