May 20th, 2015 - The next sampler today from Duck Foot's gluten free options is the Red Ale. It's almost coffee-like, with tons of brown ale notes on the nose. I also get scents of Virginia tobacco, leather and treated leather. The flavor extends these leather notes and adds some bitterness that reminds me of walnuts and roasted chestnuts. The aftertaste is also lovely, recalling the tobacco treatment from the nose like a slow, smoldering aromatic tobacco.
