The name of this beer does not mislead. Brewed with Cocoa Nibs and Real Chopped Hazelnut, this is a full bodied, malt forward beer with strong notes of Molasses, Caramel, Brown Sugar, Dark Chocolate and Coconut. A small amount of Cascade hops are added for just enough bitterness to balance out the malt sweetness.

October 10th, 2016 - A large, billowing head erupts from the pour like Krakatoa, filling the glass and clinging onto the inside with mottled foam where the bulk of the bubbles can't reach. It's hard, but some excavation reveals the chalky and malty aroma, though otherwise it's a fairly simple aroma. The flavor is the same, overly smoothed and flattened with chalky chocolate. There's maybe a glow of plum here, but it's too quiet to add much character to this brew.

Poured into a Stone Brewery flute glass. Pours a dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass, with a fine one finger ivory head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet dark toasted malt, nuts and light cocoa. Flavor follows, with semi-sweet dark toasted malt, hazelnuts and cocoa, slight hops in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A nice full dark porter body, leaning towards a export stout profile, with nicely integrated nut and cocoa flavors. All well balanced and flavorful. A well made nut porter and promising introduction to this brewery.

Deep dark brown with a thick tan head that dissipated quickly.
Lovely aroma of roasty cocoa nutty molasses. Taste follows with a tinge of bitterness mid-palate.
Well carbonated with a slightly spritzy mouthfeel. Smooth hint of hazelnut finish.
Quite delicious. Well done!
