September 3rd, 2015 - This is an odd bird. Colored like a dark brown ale (with a shade of plum color on the periphery of the glass) it smells exactly like a hefeweizen. With its banana esters, chocolate chip sprinkles and slight chalkiness, this is like the trend in Japan of taking colorful drinks and switching them to a clear beverage, but the opposite. The flavor is also a dead ringer for a hefeweizen, thick and full a wheat flavor and banana esters. the malt bill of the brown ale element is invisible as far as I can tell, effectively making this a here in disguise.
