A special "über dank IPA" brewed as a "4/20 limited release." Chinook, Centennial, and Simcoe hops. Poured from at 16 oz. can into my glass.
The appearance is all over the place -- nectarine color, slightly hazy, with big toad's eye bubbles up top and more fat bubbles rising from the bottom. The head collapses quickly into lacing.
Aroma is pine, fresh cut grass, some onion, honey, mango.
Taste has nice bitterness, with more pine, gentian. Very little fruit. A little bit more honey, on the finish.
I don't really get the dank here. But this is a decent shot at an old school, nicely bitter West Coast IPA (albeit, boozier than we used to make them). Not bad -- I'll be interested in trying other offerings from these folks.
