On tap at South Park Brewing Co in San Diego in the midst of Triple IPA season. Fifth place in the local TIPA Throwdown. This years version listed at 10.5% ABV.
Pours a clear golden yellow with short lived wispy white head.
Malty on the nose - I get a bit of cereal grain - pine, orange, orange rind, pineapple, and as warmed a bit of a floral note.
Taste hits with a sweet grainy malt and a quick burst of dank hops, before a cornucopia of tropical and citrus flavours comes in with finishing notes of grapefruit and resinous pine. Bitterness on the swallow with boozy note, but bitter/sweet balance is nice.
Smooth and very drinkable with a medium full mouthfeel on appropriately tepid carbonation - leaves a resinous bitter sweetness to linger briefly.
