1st review of this beer on BA. Had at the DIPA festival on February 8, 2020.
Poured a maltier than average appearance on that beautiful day. Had an amber appearance, 1/3" white head. Aroma was tough to compete with the others. Commercial tug job about nectarine and tropical fruit didn't resonate, nor did the 'light malt' assertion. A bit of caramel and non descript 'fruit' note so feint you can't call it anything specifically from my nose.
Taste was easier going, but still largely bouyed/limited by a smoother caramel impression. Going for balance almost. It gets better as the mouth gets more accustomed to a heavier, smoother flow not dependent on hops. The abv was there, but there wasn't a heavy stinging bitterness or heat to it. Did nothing bad, but I can't fathom how these guys can compete in San Diego.
Dude not a fan when the work computer goes to shit the first hour on a Monday. What a joke. Good excuse to go home and get some breakfast I guess. Can't do much here. Wheel spins and spins. Prolly can't even upload this review. Better cut and paste in case.
