Blue Earl Brewing Co. "Hazy At Heart IPA"

Notes via stream of consciousness: Staight outta Smyrna, Delaware comes a very hazy golden-brass colored IPA beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is fairly bright. It's citrusy, otherwise tropically fruity, floral, and just a touch berry-like over a lightly sweetish malt base. The taste leads me to believe that it's following the usual grain bill for an NEIPA with 2-row, wheat, and oats. I have no problem with that! The hops are giving me notes of mango, apricot, nectarine, orange, soft pine, bubblegum, and roses. It's interesting, and nicely rounded. It's not that bitter as might be expected, and probably around 18 IBUs give or take a few. In the finish I'm finding more pine, some earthiness, and a swirls of light spiciness once the fruitiness has passed. I'm about a quarter of the way into it at this point and I still have a nice creamy cap of foam although the lacing isn't that great. In the mouth it's medium bodied, smooth with a whole lot of extra proteins, and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled moderate carbonation. I think it could probably use a little more maturation time (it's a touch yeasty) although I understand that can be difficult to do with NEIPAs because you're trying to follow certain hop schedules. All in all this is a pretty decent beer and most likely the best beer that I've had from the Blue Earl.

3/2021 Finally had a chance to try this one. A very nice low-alcohol hazy! I wish the head would last a little longer, but that is a minor complaint. An amazingly punchy flavor of citrus and pine, while staying with just a 5% alcohol level, a preferable level for me. Will try to get this at Kreston.

Orangish amber color that is very cloudy. Nice head that lasts. Very citrusy and piney aroma that hints at the taste to come. Fairly complex yet balanced taste compared to other hazy IPAs. Light feel that is doesn't linger too long. Nice, mellow representative for its style.

Pours hazy orange, lots of floating particulates. Light head and lacing. Aroma is GF, citrus based.. a little on the tropical side, but weak. Taste mirrors the aroma, mildly bitter. MF is light, but not watery.
Not a bad beer at all, and quite tasty for a flat 5. My only down note was a light lingering bitterness.
