This wasn't a hefe, but that's almost to be expected these days in the US. If it is called a hefe in the US by an American brewery, it's likely an APWA. This wasn't an exception.
It doesn't look like a hefe, smell like a hefe, or taste like one. Just like other HGB beers, the carbonation for the style is off. No thanks.
It wouldn't even make a decent APWA, as it had no hop profile and the beer just tasted flat.
