I had this beer on-tap at the brewery in an old-school schooner glass.
Appearance: rich dark brown with a bit of haze and a finger of tan foam atop.
Smell: there’s a nice chocolate-covered-espresso-bean kind of thing going on in the aroma. I dig it.
Taste: moderately sweet malt with a good coffee character. It seems more “coffee” than “stout” to me, but I do like how well the coffee is integrated here, without getting vegetal as can sometimes happen.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: not super stouty, I think, but a totally solid coffee beer - call it a porter or a brown or something, but not a stout.
