Espiga "Tongue Twister"
4,50€ / 25cl on tap @ Ølgod, Barcelona on 26 November 2022
Notes: We really wanted to collaborate with our friend Ivan from Oddity and the style chosen for the occasion has been a very easy to drink Pale Ale, without obstacles in the language of easy very easy sipping. This 5.5% ABV DDH PA is hazy and golden in color. In terms of aroma, the sweet fruits of pineapple and mango stand out and fruits with stones such as peach and apricot with certain hints of citrus that you will enjoy in a silky and velvety sip in the mouth. Brewed with malted barley, malted wheat, and flaked oats. Dry hopped with Simcoe, Cashmire, and El Dorado.
Look: A very hazy orange body is capped by a finger's width of white foam that holds well and leaves some nice lacing behind. Better than average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Lightly sweet malt with lots of hoppy fruitiness including apple, nectarine, pear, citrus, and pineapple.
Taste: Everything found in the aroma returns in the flavor. You can taste a little bit of the oats in the malt. Additional notes include passionfruit, melon, pine, and peach. A moderate bitterness balances it (listed at 25 IBUs) and it finishes mainly dry with some fading malt, mineral and soft herbs appearing once the fruit has passed.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled, standard carbonation.
Overall: A pleasant, double dry hopped hazy pale ale.
