Doopie brought this one for beer night a couple weeks ago. Cheers!

DDH IPA

APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, looser, foamy white head with okay retention. Really foamy, actually. Murky, cloudy gamboge orange with medium levels of carbonation evient. Head recedes to a splotchy wisp and leaves touches of lace on the glass. A ring remains until the end but leaves no real lacing on the glass as it empties.

SMELL: Citrus fruits, lemon, lime, pineapple, mango and passion fruit on the nose. Really fruity. Lots of tropical aromas. Nice stuff.

TASTE: Bready malts, caramel sweetness, some tropical fruits and a decent punch of bitterness at the swallow. Bolder finish of bready malts, some mango, pineapple, and some bitter, piney hops. Flavorful but a little too bready for my tastes.

PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. A little foamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a bit dry. A touch of bitterness lingers.

OVERALL: Decent stuff, but like a lot of examples in the NEIPA style, the nose is the most impressive part of the show while the flavor is overly bready and malt forward. An enjoyable enough brew, but not quite top marks for the style.

Pours a hazy orange, with thick, fluffy head.

Smell is juicy and grassy with notes of mango, passionfruit, oranges and a hint of licorice.

Taste follows the nose well, and a dds a bit of minerality along with a moderate bitterness, a hint of licorice and a dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

Overall, another very good IPA by Alefarm.
