33 cl can poured chilled into a La Debauche brewery short glass, in Toulouse, FR. Packed on Feb. 5, 2025 - six weeks fresh to the lip.
Reasonable tan foam on deep brown brew.
Aroma comes out coffee and well- toasted bread.
Taste leads and ends with coffee. In between are hits of bakers cocoa and lots of roasted chocolate malt. The hop note will not be ignored, despite its brief appearance. The sum of the parts offers a fine bitterness before draining the palate with long lingering coffee and a little sweet residue.
Mouth is light end of medium, high end of medium carbonation.
Overall, this IPA / Black ale / Stout hybrid is a flavor packed Winner.

L- Inky black, pours with fat (3Cm) deep tan head (cap holds well + lacing later formed).
S- Toasty and smokey.
T- Toasty, smokey, relatively pungent. Works well being an IPA as the intensity of the toast/smoke can be counter-balanced with a hoppy flourish into the finish.
F- Pungent flavours balanced into a medium-dry whole. Would definitely be best suited for slow-sippin' and/or drinking in the colder months of the year.
O- Quite a beast of an experience considering it's 'just 8%'. Could be fun getting a friend to blind taste it and try and guess the ABV%. I've had stouts/black-beers over 10% that resembled this one.
One for fans of BIG pungent black beers. Just one tip, I'd suggest not trying to rate any other beers after trying this one... my own palate feels like it's shortly going to be fully blitzed out!
Bought from Bacchanalia, Mill Road, Cambridge, 330ml bottle I forget the price but pretty expensive, certainly £3/+ as I recall.

Bottled and possibly bottle conditioned
Pours a jet black body with massive foaming tobacco stained head that sticks around
Blackberry and sawdust aroma with baking soda
Burned toast with marshmallows flavour
Interesting stuff

First off this is not a black ipa but a hoppy stout. It's all about coffee, herbal and earthy hops and citrus. Good bitterness. A bit light bodied and overly carbonated

Black color with mocha head. Aroma has really nice caramel, fudge and earthy hops. Taste starts really balanced with caramel and chocolate malt, hops follow with earthy, piney bitterness and finish is long and hoppy. Medium body with smooth mouthfeel. Quite good black IPA, I really enjoy this style that borders a stout.
